  1. Amnesty International is a human-rights 
  2. organization, that was established in the
  3. UK in 1961 to campaign for the release of
  4. prisoners of conscience worldwide, fair 
  5. trials for all political prisoners, an end to
  6. the death penalty, torture, and other inhuman
  7. treatment of all prisoners, and the cessation
  8. of extrajudicial executions and 
  9. "disappearances". It is politically and 
  10. economically unaligned. Amnesty International
  11. has over 1.1 million members, and section 
  12. offices in 43 countries around the world. 
  13. The organization was awarded the Nobel Peace
  14. Prize in 1977.
